In today's modern world, you tend to hear people talk about the importance of carbohydrates, fats, and protein. Everyone is so concerned with their macronutrients that they often forget about the little guys that are as important if not more important than macronutrients; micronutrients. Micronutrients are also one of the major groups of nutrients that our body requires to be able to function properly. Micronutrients consist of two different categories; vitamins and minerals. These two help our body with a wide range of functions; immune system, blood clotting, energy production, bone growth and health, and many more. However, micronutrients are only required in small amounts in our body, that's why they are called micronutrients as compared to their more popular sibling; macronutrients.
